I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.

Reflection
David had no doubt that God would listen to and answer his prayer. This is not because David used particular words, held his hands in a certain fashion or knelt at an alter, but that he had faith and belief in the Lord.
God gave the gift of prayer as a way for us to open ourselves up to and communicate with Him so that we can enter into a deep and meaningful relationship.
God does not care whether you are kneeling down at your bedside, driving your car or walking the dog when you pray. Nor does he care if your prayers seem short and clumsy compared to the long eloquent prayers of the “professionals”. There is no right or wrong way to pray, the important thing is to let God into your heart. Do that and He will let Himself be known to you.
Spiritual Exercise
Your to-do for today: Experiment with your prayers today. Offer up 3 short prayers throughout the day – 1 when you at home, alone and at peace, 1 when you are out enjoying a walk and 1 when you have distractions going on around you. How do the different circumstances and surroundings shape your prayers? When do you feel closest to God?
Music
Have a listen to these songs as you think about today’s reflection.
