Reflection
From a spiritual high to a physical low. No choice, the Spirit immediately drove him out. No time to bask in the glory of the baptism. Time to prepare for the work. Have you ever experienced that sort of thing? A spiritual high maybe from an event or special service, the suddenly wham! You’re in a form of wilderness, you’re being attacked, tempted, tested. Don’t worry – that’s normal. Hold on to God & it will pass. The Christian life is not all being on a high. The going can get tough, don’t give up – keep the faith. Sender the temptations packing which some choice scriptures.
Spiritual Exercise
Your to-do for today: Jesus used scripture to fight the temptations. The more we read scripture, the more the Spirit can bring it into our minds. Can you bring more bite-sized scripture into your life? How about looking up each of the verses in these daily readings and browsing around them a bit.
