Day 1 – All Things New

Reading:- Isaiah 43:18-19

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Reflection

What does it take for you to be excited about your future? For many of us, it takes something certain and completely different from the everyday routine; like a long-planned holiday getaway. But this passage reminds us that the seasons of personal growth, change, restoration and fulfilment are happening all the time. It may barely be perceptible but if we don’t dwell on our past and instead look carefully at God working in our life, we can see signs of growth and be excited about what our personal future holds – even if we don’t know the destination. How do we do that? By reflecting on the goodness of God. Make this daily reflection part of the way you can enter this new season with an open mind and open heart. And sit back and watch what God will do in your life!

Spiritual Exercise

Did you know that one of the most popular videos on the internet is a set of time lapse images from seeds germinating? It is true. Many describe it as mesmerising, and almost everyone who watches it feels something special. We watch as the motion of a new seed struggles to reach the sun and it evokes in us a feeling of our struggles and achievements in life.
