Day 3 – Work Should be Joyful

Reading:- Colossians 3:23-24

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving”

Reflection

“I have to go to work” is a phrase we typically use with regret or resignation. We almost never use the phrase with joy. This verse is a reminder that work is something we do with greater significance. We are inherited the privilege to participate in fruitful, productive work and that is both satisfying to us and pleasing to our Lord. So let’s go to work today with a new vision for what we are doing; serving our creator God by using our abilities to help bring forth from this world goodness, productivity, life and most importantly a visible sign that our God is alive and among us

Spiritual Exercise

Ever wonder what work was like 100 years ago? It is really fascinating to see how our work has changed and how our lives today are so different from the lives that were led by people a century ago.
