you established the luminaries and the sun.
You have fixed all the bounds of the earth;
you made summer and winter.”

Reflection
The summer solstice (21st June) was a bit of a damp squib this year with many of us having to have the heating on instead of enjoying the longest day of the year in the sunshine. Yet, it still serves as a reminder that the day is topped and tailed by God’s awesome presence. It’s also a reminder that the light always shines in the darkness and whatever heartache we might experience globally, locally or personally God is always there. He is timeless and constant. The Alpha and Omega. At our beginning and our ending.
Spiritual Exercise
Starting the day and ending it in prayer is a great way to remind ourselves that God is always present in our lives. Try starting the day by asking God to be with you whatever lies ahead. Ask him to bless the people you will encounter and those you will see but not necessarily communicate with. Then at the end of the day, look back on the day and thank God for the moments you were particularly aware of his presence.
