Reading:-Zephaniah 3:17

The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory;
he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing

Reflection

I don’t know about you, but one of the things I have missed the most during the lockdown is the lack of communal singing in church. For someone like me, who does not sing very well, there is something in singing with others that gives me comfort and makes me feel part of the Body Of Christ. Singing aloud is exhilarating and empowers the people of God. It also shows the presence of God amongst His people. Zephaniah, writing to wayward nations, predicts a time when God will punish all iniquities and after this He will come and bless His people and sing over them with loud singing. This last year has been like a time of punishment, but now it’s over we have come to the time of singing and rejoicing. Wherever you are today, whatever you are going through. I want you to know that the time of your singing has come and today hear Him sing over you with His love.

Spiritual Exercise

There is no better way to pray than to sing! Why not choose a playlist from YouTube to listen to this week. Here is an example https://youtu.be/zsDtVlZvSHY . You may also just recollect any of the songs from last Sunday and sing them again and again to God and ask Him to sing back to you. Take time to listen for His voice. I am sure you will hear Him sing back to you.
