Reading:-John 8:12

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.””

Reflection

Plants will never move away from the light, they are drawn to it. In the same way Jesus gives spiritual light to anyone who looks to him. Matthew said Jesus is a great light that shines upon a people sitting in the darkness. Light is said to conquer darkness and to bring order out of chaos.

Spiritual Exercise

There are lots of verses referring to the light of the Lord and below are a couple for you to read. Imagine you are walking in darkness. With no direction. God’s word is like a lamp, to show you where to go. A lamp on our paths. Believe and trust in him and he will show you the way.

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path

John 1:5

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness.
