We Journey Together
Loss needs to be processed for our physical and mental wellbeing. Unresolved grief can also affect our attitudes, relationships and attainment. The Bereavement Journey® is a place to talk – 7 Sessions of films and discussion for anyone who has been bereaved, whether grieving a death now, or wanting to explore a previous bereavement that may be unresolved.
This course is for bereaved adults to do their own grief work. It is supported by a Manual and facilitated by volunteers.
Attendance is recommended for all the Sessions, although it is possible to join at Session 2. It is most beneficial to attend at least a few weeks after the death – ideally after the funeral – but this is not essential and The Bereavement Journey can benefit those in anticipatory grief, also pregnancy loss. Please note participants need to be able to hear other people’s stories.
Faith is reserved for the final, 7th session, which provides a Christian perspective to commonly asked faith questions in bereavement. This is optional, making The Bereavement Journey suitable for anyone of any faith or none.
The Bereavement Journey is being offered by churches and Christian organisations across the UK and world. Ideally participants attend a programme in their local area. This page is for booking the programme offered by St Andrew’s. Cobham, and is open to people in that area. If you are based elsewhere, please visit the locations page on www.thebereavementjourney.org/locations before booking, to see whether there is a programme running nearer that would suit you. If there isn’t, please use the link at the top of the same page for the national online programme.
