We have a vacancy for a Vicar

Ready, steady ... go!

Our Parish Profile is all ready and approved by the PCC. The advert will be published in the Church Times for the four Sundays in November with a closing date early in December.

Our much loved Vicar, The Revd Dr Mike Branscombe left us in September to take up the post of Canon Missioner at Guildford Cathedral.

We are now in a period of Vacancy (aka an interregnum) whilst we seek God’s guidance on the appointment of a new Vicar.

What Happens Now?

The Archdeacon of Dorking, Martin Breadmore, has set out the process in a newsletter to the parish which you can read here.
There is a standard process to go through when appointing a new Vicar in the Church of England. We had the Section 11 meeting on 20th October when we appointed the parish representatives to the selection team and approved moving into the advertising stage.

Praying for the Right Person

If you would like to pray with us in person for the right new person then there is an opportunity to pray with others in the Memorial Chapel of the church every second Wednesday evening.
See the “Open Prayer meeting” dates on the Calendar on the website here.

A Vacancy Prayer

The prayer below is a good prayer to use.
